THE WEDDING VOW

When God created you,

He was thinking about me.

He made your breath from mine,

Forged my happiness in halves,

Put one half in you

And one in me.

In the beginning, He made my empty heart,

And for years, He first stood in the gap,

Then handed you the keys when your shift dawned.

Now He is Manager,

and this union is His business.

When I look at you,

I see not skin,

Or clothes,

Or beauty that time can wash away.

I see fulfillment –

Fulfillment of the promise of The Cross.

My portion in Christ was made handy,

And placed right where your soul sits.

Its amazing how the knot we tied

Set my joy free.

That a wife like you is favour from God.
