Its not just another day….it comes with a special feeling, its the season of love and not just for lovers but for all. It comes with everything perfect starting from a change in the weather like the beautiful white snow that makes it more colorful or the cold harmattan breeze that makes the trees dance to the Season’s melody and then the holiday, oh the long anticipated holiday where you have everyone around to piss you off and kiss you… What family stands for.
With lights on every street and the sweet melody that comes with it, the white, the gold, the red and the green colors beautifully combined in every possible way giving its own kind of warmth though it can’t be compared to the joy in the heart of kids who have anticipated waking up to see their reward for keeping to the rules throughout the year placed either by ‘Santa Claus’ or by their loved ones.
Its the season once more, the season of love but even these beauties doesn’t hold the specialty of the season even as perfect as it seems, what celebration can befit the birth of a king who offered himself to take the weaker form of his creation in order to draw them to himself thereby saving them from doom? What dept of love! Knowing all the sufferings that was ahead of him as God, he still came in the humblest way by being born in a manger… All for love… Love is what the season is about, its about sharing and making sacrifices for love.
So let’s make the beauties complete, the colors and melodies perfect by giving it its special feel through sharing love and extending it to those who we feel do not deserve it, the helpless and homeless people and everyone in need in our own little way.
What do we love about Christmas;
Does our delight reside in things?
Or are the feelings in our hearts
The real gift that Christmas brings.
It’s seeing those we love,
Appreciating people who bring us joy
Special people just like you.
Take a heap of child-like wonder
That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
Each day a sweet surprise.
Mix in fond appreciation
For the people whom we know;
Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.
Add some giggles and some laughter,
A dash of Christmas food,
Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
Decorate with optimism, the,
We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
Even when it’s not December.
